Product description
U-BOAT Sommerso 9519
The U-BOAT Sommerso 9519 is a powerful narrative encapsulated in a watch, born from the remarkable history and spirit of U-BOAT’s legacy. This timepiece draws directly from a vision dating back to 1942, when Ilvo Fontana, a master craftsman, was commissioned by the Italian Navy to design watches that embodied rugged reliability and clear readability for pilots under demanding conditions. Although those initial designs never saw service, they lay dormant until rediscovered by his grandson Italo Fontana in 2000, who revived and reinterpreted this heritage with a bold, modern twist.
The Sommerso collection, to which the 9519 belongs, channels this storied past by merging U-BOAT’s unmistakable Italian craftsmanship with a spirit of adventure and resilience. This watch features a robust and bold design, characterized by its substantial round case and distinctive bezel. The bezel is marked with clear, prominent numerals and indicators, enhancing its dynamic appearance. Its dial is striking, with contrasting elements that stand out, including a unique sub-dial and bold hour markers that add depth and character. The watch is equipped with a prominent crown guard on the side, giving it an industrial look. The strap is textured, complementing the overall rugged aesthetic of the timepiece.

General
-
(Read more) 2-Year WarrantyAs an authorized dealer, Ditur provides a 2-year warranty covering the product from the date of purchase. This means that you have full international warranty for 2 years, allowing you to file a complaint with any authorized dealer worldwide in case of manufacturing defects.
Movement
-
(Read more) Wristwatch AnalogueAn analog wristwatch is a traditional timepiece with hands that display hours, minutes, and seconds on a dial.
-
(Read more) AutomaticThe clockwork is automatic, which means that the watch has no battery, but is instead powered by the energy generated when the watch is worn on the wrist.
-
(Read more) 38 hoursThe watch has a power reserve of 38 hours. This is the amount of time an automatic watch without a battery can continue to run after it has been fully winded. Within a maximum of 38 hours, the watch must be in motion or be winded by turning the crown to keep it running. The watch can always be winded up again even if you exceed the 38 hours.
-
(Read more) 24 JewelsThe 24 jewels in this watch are small gemstones, commonly rubies, embedded in an automatic movement. They serve as lubrication, reducing friction in the moving parts and ensuring a smooth and reliable operation of the movement. The number of jewels often indicates the complexity and quality of the movement.
Design
Size
-
(Read more) 46 mmThe watch case measures 46 mm in diameter. The diameter is measured including the entire bezel and excluding the crown. Half-diameter sizes are rounded to the nearest whole number.
-
(Read more) 22 mmThe strap width is the distance between the lugs where the strap attaches to the watch case. It is also between the lugs that you measure the width to find the correct size if you wish to replace your watch strap.
Features
-
(Read more) 30 ATM / 300 meterThe watch is water resistant to 300 meters of water pressure (30 ATM) under static conditions without movement or temperature fluctuations. A rating of 30 ATM is classified as a diver’s watch, and the watch is therefore resistant to swimming and professional diving.
-
(Read more) Sapphire GlassThe watch is equipped with sapphire crystal glass, an exceptionally hard glass material. For standard wristwatches, sapphire crystal is the hardest and most scratch-resistant type of glass available. Scratch and wear resistance are measured on the Mohs hardness scale, which ranges from 1 to 10. Sapphire crystal ranks at 9 on this scale.
-
(Read more) LumeThe watch is equipped with lume, a luminous material that absorbs light during the day and emits it in the dark. Lume is most commonly applied to the dial, hands, or markers. This allows you to read the time in low-light conditions or complete darkness.
-
(Read more) DateThe watch is equipped with a date display that advances every second time the hour hand passes 12 o'clock. The date display counts up to 31 days and must be manually adjusted in months with fewer than 31 days.
