The data protection officer at Ditur can be contacted at: support@ditur.com.

What type of data we collect and why

Below is an overview of the personal data we collect about you and the purposes for which we collect it. We have also described what we consider to be the legal basis in the different situations:

Conclusion or fulfillment of a contract

When you purchase one of our products and services, we register your name, telephone number, payment details, the type of product or service you purchase and when, and any delivery information. If the goods are to be sent to you, we also record the delivery address. In addition, we may also process information about returns and complaints.

The purpose of registering the data is to fulfill and administer our agreement with you and to follow up on sales within the organization. The basis for our processing of the data is the agreement with you, cf. Article 6(b) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"). In addition, part of the processing is based on our legitimate need to be able to administer the sale in an appropriate manner, cf. GDPR Article 6(f), and we have assessed that this interest outweighs the inconvenience to you.

Administration of sales

When purchasing products in the store, we also use your name or phone number as identification in connection with payment at the checkout. The processing is based on our legitimate need to be able to administer the sale and the business in an appropriate manner, cf. GDPR article 6, f), and we have assessed that this interest outweighs the inconvenience to you.

Complaints and repairs

If you make a complaint about a product or ask us to carry out a repair, we need contact details to register the complaint or return and carry out the repair, including information on service status, service history and any upgrades, and to keep you updated. Some manufacturers also require you to be identified in order for them to authorize or carry out the repair themselves.

The purpose of registering the above information about you is to enable us to fulfill and administer our agreement with you, whether for delivery, warranty, claims or returns.

The basis for our processing of personal data for the purposes mentioned above is the purchase agreement with you and the processing is considered necessary to fulfill our obligations under the agreement. To the extent that we perform limited processing of your personal data in order to follow up on the sale internally in our organization and to you, we have assessed that our interest in doing so outweighs the inconvenience to you. For any claims brought against us, we may also collect your personal data to the extent necessary for the fulfillment or defense of our legal obligations.

Customer service

Depending on the nature of your inquiry and how you contact us (by phone, chat or email), we need to know who you are, the product you purchased and your address or phone number. We process the information collected, such as name, purchase history and contact details (email, phone number), so that we can help you. Depending on the nature of the enquiry, the basis for our processing of the data is the agreement with you, cf. GDPR Article 6(b) or our legitimate interest in being able to handle your enquiry in an appropriate manner, cf. GDPR Article 6(f). If the basis for processing is justified by the latter, we have assessed that we have a legitimate interest in processing your personal data so that we can answer your questions in the best possible way, and that this interest outweighs the inconvenience for you when you contact us and request this service.

Establishing a customer profile

We will be able to create a customer profile based on purchase history and available information for the purpose of sending newsletters, product information, tailored marketing and purchase analyses. The processing is based on our legitimate interest in being able to manage your information for the purpose of sending newsletters, production information, customized marketing, etc. cf. GDPR article 6, f). and we have assessed that this interest outweighs the inconvenience to you. However, if the processing requires your explicit consent, cf. GDPR Article 6, a), the processing of your data will not take place unless you have consented to it. See further details below under the sections on electronic marketing and market research and campaigns.

Customer account management

We have access to your customer account so that we can manage your contact details and any consent to receive our newsletters, participate in campaigns or similar that you may have consented to. As we also have a duty to ensure that your information is correct, we also receive information from third parties for the purpose of updating the name, address and telephone number information you have provided. We have assessed that we have a legitimate interest in streamlining the contact with you and managing your contact information via a customer account, cf. GDPR Article 6, f) and that this interest outweighs the inconvenience to you, especially as this also enables you to contact us in an easy way and to manage your contact information with us yourself.

Electronic marketing

We will only use your personal data to send you offers and information about our products if you have given your explicit consent to this, cf. GDPR Article 6(a). In this context, we use, among other things, information about your previous purchases to provide you with offers that we think will interest you. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting customer service.

Market surveys and campaigns

Only if you have given your explicit consent to participate in a survey, campaign or similar on the Website, we store personal data such as name, address and/or telephone number, gender, date of birth, interests, etc. depending on what is requested in the individual campaign or user survey. The basis for the processing is your consent, cf. GDPR Article 6 (a).

Further development of services and safe operation

In order to further develop our services and operate the Website in a good and responsible manner, we are, among other things, dependent on being able to use statistics on, for example, traffic, purchases and behavior on the Website. We may also need to detect fraud and take measures to prevent it. In this context, we will sometimes also use personal data to test our systems. We will use aggregated data for these purposes as far as possible. In addition, we may process your personal data when we provide training to our employees.

We have assessed that we have a legitimate interest in further developing our services and ensuring their operation, cf. GDPR Article 6(f), and that the limited processing of your personal data that we carry out in this context outweighs the inconvenience to you as a user.

Sharing your information

In some cases, other companies may have access to your personal data:

Business Partners: We have entered into a cooperation with selected companies, whereby these companies ("Business Partners") may sell their goods on the Website and in some cases we provide the products and services of Business Partners (e.g. insurance and financing). If you purchase a product provided by one of our Partners or order a service, the Partner will be the data controller of personal data processed to fulfill the purchase agreement. In relation to our Partners, we act as a service provider ("Data Processor"). Any questions regarding the processing of personal data by our business partners should be addressed to the business partner in question.

Use of external suppliers: We use the following types of external suppliers: service providers, service companies, carriers and copy protection for our online content.

Contact details and other relevant information we have recorded about you may be provided to the supplier if you order external services. In addition, if you have consented to electronic marketing, we use the following types of external service providers

    • Advertising networks, such as Google and Facebook

    • Agencies, such as marketing agencies, statistical agencies and analytics agencies

Your contact details and other relevant information we have registered about you may be disclosed to these service providers. We use these types of service providers to provide you with relevant advertising, offers, content and recommendations and to perform analyses in order to improve and further develop our services. In addition, we measure how we succeed in this, for example by conducting surveys.

These external suppliers are not allowed to use this information for anything other than performing services for us: Public authorities, etc.: In special cases, your personal data may be disclosed to relevant public authorities or other institutions if required by applicable law.

Access from abroad

If Ditur makes use of subcontractors outside the EU/EEA, we ensure that the processing is covered by the same protection that applies within the EU/EEA, e.g. where the EU Commission has determined that the country has an adequate level of protection, where appropriate guarantees have been provided, or where the EU's standard data protection clauses or another equivalent arrangement is applied.

Deletion

Your personal data is linked to your purchases and will normally be erased when it is no longer needed to respond to your enquiries and the warranty period for the product has expired (e.g. after 2 years for own brands), unless we need to keep the data for a longer period to fulfill other legitimate purposes or legal requirements, such as accounting legislation.

Personal data that we process on the basis of your consent will be erased if you withdraw your consent.

Instead of erasing the personal data, it may in some cases be relevant to anonymise it. Anonymisation means the removal of all identifying or potentially identifying characteristics from the data set being processed.

Your rights

Here you can see your rights, which you can exercise at any time by contacting us using the details below:

Withdrawal of consent: If you have consented to receive communications from us with offers of goods and services, you can withdraw this consent at any time. We have made it easy for you to opt-out of such offers each time you receive a communication from us. Consent can also be withdrawn by contacting customer services.

Request for access: You have the right to access the personal data we have registered about you.

Request for rectification or erasure: You can also ask us to rectify inaccurate information about you or to erase the personal data completely. As far as possible, we will honor a request for erasure of personal data, but we cannot do this if there are compelling reasons not to erase it, for example if we need to keep the data for documentation purposes. You can delete a lot of data yourself. For example, you can delete your profile with us at any time.

Data portability: You can request data portability, including for personal data provided with your consent or necessary for the conclusion of the purchase contract.

To exercise your rights, you can contact our customer services. Your enquiry will be answered as soon as possible and at the latest within 30 days.

We will ask you to confirm your identity or provide additional information before you can exercise your rights with us. We do this to make sure that we are only providing access to the personal data for you - and not for someone who is simply pretending to be you.

Complain to the supervisory authority: If you disagree with the way we process your personal data, you can lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority.
