Product description
U-BOAT Capsoil Doppiotempo SS 8838
The U-BOAT Capsoil Doppiotempo SS 8838 embodies a fusion of historical legacy and modern innovation, bridging Italy’s military heritage with contemporary watchmaking. Rooted in the Doppiotempo tradition, originally designed in 1938 for Italian army paratroopers, the watch carries forward the concept of dual-time functionality. It caters to global travelers' needs, tracking 'double time' with ease. This model stands out with its unique feature from the Capsoil collection: a Swiss electro-mechanical movement and dial fully immersed in a low-viscous oil bath. This oil bath creates an intense black, three-dimensional visual effect on the dial, where the hands seem to float, enhanced by a constantly moving compensation bubble.
The Capsoil collection represents a bold evolution in watch design by U-BOAT, blending retro-style aesthetics with cutting-edge technology. Designer Italo Fontana describes Capsoil as transcending traditional boundaries, marrying vintage charm with unprecedented visual depth. The artistic use of oil immersion enriches the visual experience, reflecting the brand’s dedication to craftsmanship. This melding of Italian design heritage and Swiss precision engineering results in timepieces with striking personality and a sense of life beneath the crystal-less dial. The Capsoil Doppiotempo extends U-BOAT's philosophy by combining the historical significance of the Doppiotempo line with the innovative spirit of the Capsoil range, creating a watch that narrates a journey from the 1930s to contemporary horology.
