Green initiatives

At Ditur, we want to run our business with respect for the world we operate in. Therefore, we do what we can to explore the optimal solutions, which can also contribute positively to the green transition.

Sustainability is complex, and it can be challenging to determine what is sustainable - both as a consumer and a company. Therefore, sustainability at Ditur is about seeking the best solutions and ensuring transparency about our business, actions, and products. Our customers should be confident about who we are as a company and what they buy when they shop with us.

Based on this approach to sustainability, we have continuously explored and tested actions where we have been able to improve some of our processes in a more sustainable direction.

FSC-certified packaging

At Ditur, we use FSC-certified packaging in all packages send to customers. Our packaging is made with a mixture of materials from FSC-certified forests, recycled materials, and/or FSC-controlled wood. This type of packaging provides an FCS Mix certification. An FSC Mix certification supports responsible forestry, which means that we are helping to look after forests, biodiversity and all forest creatures.

Climate compensation

As a company, we have many customers through our website. We have a good relationship with our customers and a good community around Ditur. Therefore, it was natural to establish an initiative where we could involve them and allow our customers to contribute to the green transition. Consequently, we have added climate compensation in our checkout flow, where our customers can support the Growing Trees Network Foundation (GTNF) with 1 EUR. GTNF is an organisation that plants trees in public forests, thus working for climate protection and CO2 reduction. With our climate compensation, we take care of all the practicalities related to GTNF, making it easy for our customers to contribute to the green transition. With this initiative, we have planted more than 18,000 trees and thus created our own Ditur forest.

Collaboration with ReSea Project

Another initiative is our collaboration with ReSea Project on our Dissing Ocean watches. ReSea Project is an NGO that works to remove plastic from the world's oceans. Specifically, the partnership works so that ReSea Project removes ten plastic bottles from the world's oceans every time well sell a Dissing Ocean watch. ReSea Project then sorts the collected plastic, and all recyclable products are reused for new purposes. In this way, we contribute to cleaning the oceans.

Recycling of watch boxes

We offer our customers the option of returning their watch boxes to our shops, where we ensure that the boxes are reused in future orders if the condition is suitable. If the returned watch box does not comply with our standards, we ensure they are correctly sorted for recycling.
